As we told you in our last post, our very first woman sewing pattern “Salt&Pepper”, has been released and is full of very interesting versions to help you chose the perfect one which fits your style and your personal handmade summer wardrobe. Today we bring you a review for the first version of the pattern, a classic lady shirt, but with some details that make it special: darts from bust to waist, sleeves and different types of yoke. Version 2 is a lovely shirt dress with pockets in the side seams
The bust darts make the shirt fits perfectly to your body in a very feminine way. The collar and the sleeves, which can be in two different positions, inwards or outwards, make this shirt a very versatile garment. Collar and sleeves are also easy to sew, using the hidden bias binding sewing technique, which makes the final result looks very professional.
All these details allow you to create different combinations, so every single shirt or shirtdress you sew will be different, and it also will help you to learn new and different sewing techniques. Besides, for every single version you can also chose three different types of yoke: classic yoke, double yoke or yoke with gap, which one do you chose?
TESTERS VERSIONS (I)
During the process of testing and development of this first pattern of our women´s collection, we have counted with the participation of some dressmakers. They have contributed with their point of view and their personal adjustments to the final version of the pattern. We want to show you their shirts and dresses, some of them are fianl versions, others intermediate stages of the testing phase, but you can be sure that all of them are full of inspiration!
Sonia´s shirt is made with a blue rayon and it´s the easiest option that you can choose: shirt witha classic yoke. She has done a version that we love, taking care of all the details and with a perfect fitting!
Ana has combined colors for the neck and sleeves. She has chosen the shirtdress version with double yoke:
