Sew Along: Special jersey fabrics. Fabrics and Supplies

Hi!

Let´s start this Sew Along with one of the most fun parts: choose the fabrics and supplies we need for it!

You can see how this Sew Along works, dates, and other posts here.

As you already know, the amazing fabrics we are using for this Sew Along are from Irene, from  Slow Taller, who has prepared amazing packs which include the amount of fabric you need and the patterns. You just have to choose you favourite fabric and start sewing.

So, the first thing we need to do is to choose the size you are sewing. Check the measurement table and take into account that babies don´t usually have a standard size, even if two babies have the same age, it doesn´t mean they have the same size, so be sure to choose the perfect size. To do so, we advise you to take the baby measurements using a loose garment you have from him/her and choose the size from the measurement table using that garment.

CHOOSE YOUR FABRIC

As we told you at the begining of this post, this Sew Along is very special for us cause we have used the lovely fabrics form Irene, from  Slow Taller, and we could´nt be happier with the final result. Also, Irene has prepared amazing packs for you guys which include also the patter and the exact amount of fabric you need to sew the long and short pants/leggings, the shirt and the sweatshirt. You only need to check on Irene´s website and follow the instructions to choose your favorite pack. These are some of the many combinations you can choose.

These jersey fabrics are really soft and perfect for this project. Also, they combine perfectly between them, so you will be more than pleased with the final result.

Once you have your fabric, prewash it in the manner you plan on caring for the finished garment. Never skip this step! There is no worst thing than working hard on a project and have your garment shrink the first time you wash it.

And that´s all for today´s post! We continue tomorrow with a very special post in which we will give you all the tricks and tips you need to become a jersey fabric seamstress expert! Do not miss it out!

Lara&Arancha.
